June Update, River Festival Race, and Surf Camp

Below is the June Update:

If you want to see a “whitewater” trip down the Hooch on the YOLO Yak, check out this Surfrider Atlanta post. We had a great cleanup day with the National Park Service. My pics from that day are in the gallery below. Click the image to see the slideshow. Photo Credit: SurfrideriderAtlanta.org / Kevin Griggs Photography.

I had a great paddle on Lake Lanier last week. The wind and waves from the boats made for a very interesting paddle. It took me three hours from Van Pugh Park to the Lake Lanier Resort but only about 45 minutes to get back. Sorry no pictures. It was crazy with boats everywhere so snapping photos wasn’t really an option. I am going to find a pointbreak to surf on that lake.

The YOLO guys are coming up from Florida on Thursday, June 11 with some stand up paddleboards. If you want to buy a board, just let us know by end of day Wednesday. You can see more info about the YOLO SUPs at www.yoloboard.com. All the boards and colors are listed.

We will be paddling my SUPs at the Chattahoochee River Festival on Saturday, June 13 (info). It should be fun on the SUPs. Unfortunately, we only have two plastic SUP Yaks and those are taken for the race. Steve will be paddling down with Sean the SUP legend from Miami. Those river guys won’t know what’s happening when Sean and I start passing boats. We need to find some water balloons that are biodegradable.

On the 19th, we are heading to Florida for an SUP race and International Surf Day with Surfrider Atlanta. We have another surf/SUP kids camp in Florida on the 26th with sister company Blue Mountain Surf. After those events, we will likely have some more demo days in Georgia.

Feel free to contact us if you are interested in trying/buying a YOLO SUP or want more information.
